No, I’m Not Going Out

Should I be insulted? This morning I put on yoga pants and a sweater, dabbed a bit of concealer under my eyes, slicked on some lip gloss and my husband asked if I was going somewhere. Then I walked into the kitchen and my daughter asked me the same thing. Really? Have standards and expectations gotten so low that it’s a step up when I change into yoga pants???

Back in the day, before I started Sparkle Farms and my life revolved around playground shorts, I taught elementary school. I was known for being one of the best dressed teachers. Pre-motherhood I was a MAC makeup artist. Not only did I have a full face of makeup every day, but I was also wearing a minimum of three, yes three, lip products. How did I even have the time to put on that much makeup?

So, how did I end up here? Can I help it if my pajamas are just so comfy? At least they are a coordinated set. I have maintained some standards. I guess there doesn’t seem to be a reason to change out of pjs if I’m just going to change back into them at the end of the day. However, I have noticed that my day is much more productive when I make the effort to change in the morning. It did get me here in front of the computer…

How about you? Do you think it’s worth changing out of your pajamas every day?
