Happy National Inventors Day
Here at Sparkle Farms, we would like to give a shout out to Mrs. Amelia Bloomer! She was an advocate for women’s equality in the 1800s and helped them get the right to vote. Mrs. Bloomer also revolutionized how women dressed. Instead of tight corsets and layers of floor-length underskirts she advocated knee-length skirts with pants, or bloomers, underneath. According to Biography.com, Ms. Amelia is credited for popularizing this style of dress and inventing the sewing pattern for the original bloomers! We took her original concept and brought it into the 21st Century as the bloomer short, aka the under dress short. Thank you, Mrs. Amelia Bloomer, for your leadership and inspiration!
